Yet another unique vintage Conn alto saxophone at MROsaxophones! This is a rare example from the Transitional period: the transition phase from the ChuBerry to the 6M. Not only is this one in near mint condition, it is also the most sought-after model with the so-called Art Deco engraving. These were built in limited numbers in 1930 and 1931, first in the B and Bb key version according to the ChuBerry model and later in the B and Bb key version according to the 6M model. 

In the collection there is a very late tenor Conn ChuBerry/New Wonder 2, which is very special. It is listed as TS35 in the online collection of MROsaxophones.
This is undoubtedly one of the first Conn tenor saxophones that shows early signs of improvement. So this is actually one of the first Transitional models! I have compared this sax extensively with a normal Conn tenor ChuBerry (serial number M198xxx) and a slightly later Conn tenor (serial number M256xxx).

The Buffet Crampon R13 is without doubt one of the best and most popular clarinets among serious and professional players. The first examples were built around 1954, and this model is still being produced in various versions and names. Around 1970 three variations on the standard model were made: the BC20, the S1 and the Academy Model. These models have small variations compared to a standard R13 and were built in small series at the time. Extensive information can be found on ClarinetPerfection.com. All three variants are present in the collection of MROsaxophones: an absolute rarity!

A very rare version of the Conn new Wonder series 1 alto sax has been added to the collection: an almost mint example in Finish 1. This has the matte silver-plated body in combination with gold-plated keys and a gold-plated engraving. A very fine example, and 1 of the last New Wonder series 1 altos that were built at the time. I have never seen such a beautiful example: absolute museum quality! The sax has been fully serviced and is in perfect condition both technically and optically. A real asset to my collection!

Undoubtedly, the Conn 10M Ladyface is a legendary instrument. It is still used by many professional saxophonists, especially in the jazz scene. Much general information can be found online via the various sax forums, and via the Saxpics site. The pre-war 10M is the most sought after and a nice example without damage is hard to find. Why is this sax so loved? Two reasons ; the unique sound and the unlimited power that the sax produces. You just feel it vibrating in your hands......

Another Buescher New Aristocrat alto saxophone has been added to the collection. This one is very special: this sax with serial number 2671xx has the original lacquer and the rare neck with number '3'. This is almost identical to the sax played by Sigurd Rascher, the famous saxophone soloist. He played on a gold-plated one with serial number from the same range ... Extremely rare, and also in very good original condition. Gold-plated Norton springs, Snap-in pads, original protective cap, lyre and original case: all complete.

Another tenor saxophone Conn 10M Ladyface has arrived at MROsaxophones. It is getting more and more difficult to find a nice one, most of them are now well worn, overhauled several times and with the necessary dents and repair marks. However, this 10M is in excellent condition, with beautiful original lacquer and without damage! A real asset to the collection, take a quick look at the photos! Built in late 1948, with straight tone holes. After an extensive service in June 2020, it is completely ready for a second life.
 

The older Yanagisawa saxophones are real hidden gems. Handmade, in small series, and a formidable competitor of the Selmer MK6. Here is a tenor T4, released under the name 'Continental'. Built in May 1967, with original lacquer and normal signs of wear and tear. No damage or large dents, only the keyguard of the Fis key is missing. You have to play this T4! ..... What a fantastic sound! Check if the sax is still available!
