General description : Conn Transitional 6M type, with low B and Bb key on the left hand side of the bell, and the underslung mechanism on the neck. This is the TRUE Transitional type, with both ChuBerry and 6M type features. Not that many were made and they are highly sought after. Further details: lacquered body and keywork, rolled tone holes, double socket neck with micro tuner, no key guard for low B and Bb keys, logo on bell only. This sax had the old-style left hand pinky plateau (ChuBerry style). Interesting: his is the first one of a small batch that was produced without fancy bell engraving (after the beautiful Art Deco engraving and before the Ladyface engraving on the bell). It has the Conn logo on the bell only. The sound of these Transitionals is hard to beat, and they play in tune very well.

Condition : This alto was overhauled in 2008 by it´s previous owner: It plays very well on the current set of pads. Of course it would definitely benefit from a new set of pads: we can do that for you on demand.
The sax is in very good physical condition with no major dents or damage. Tone holes are not flattened and in original condition. No rust marks at low Es key. The lacquer finish shows wear on the usual places. Original rollers and locking screws. The neck is in good condition, almost without lacquer, has a perfect working microtuner and a couple of small dents on both sides. Mouthpiece end is shortened a bit. The inside of the neck tenon is not perfect anymore, but the neck has a perfect and tight fit. It comes with a nice vintage Rayburn Music case, in good condition.
