General description : During WW2 Conn stopped almost all production of music instruments and switched to production of altimeters and other equipment for the US-Airforce. Only a very limited amount of saxophones were produced between early 1942 and end of 1945: most of them were for the US-military bands (with the US engraving on the bell) or special orders.
This one was built end 1942 but lacks the US engraving. It could be a special order, but it can also be a 10M that was not finished when the war started in December 1941 (Pearl harbor attack). It´s completely identical to the sought-after pre-war 10M Ladyface, so with rolled tone holes and the T-cup octave pip. It's a terrific horn to play, very free blowing! Lots of power, fast ergonomic keywork  and a full sound.

Condition : Definitely the original relacquer, with the usual wear and tear: see pictures. No damage, repairs or dents, only a couple of small ding at the bow section. All locking screws are present and it has the original amber rollers. The original neck has the T-cup octave pip. No pulldown on the neck! The pads are older pads, with the correct resonators. It was overhauled by Emilio Lyons at Rayburn Music in the 90´s: Emilio´s personal sticker can be found on the bell (see pictures). The horn is playing fine on these older pads: a full overhaul will bring up this horn´s potential to the max. These are the very best of the Conn 10M series and highly sought after.
It comes with the an King Cleveland case, with log, fully functional and in good condition. Locking springs are working fine.
