General description : This Buffet Crampon BC20 is a variation of the R13 : Buffet´s top model. The S1, Continentale and BC20, which evolved into the RC, were all attempts to make darker, more focused sounding professional clarinets for the European market. The BC-20 is the more “powerful” of the models. This model design has larger toneholes then the equivalent R-13 which allows a more fuller and dynamic ease of playing.
The BC-20 was produced from the mid 1960’s until 1985 until a design evolution created the RC model in 1975.
This is a BC20 Bb clarinet with matching serial nos. F195379 dating to mid-1979. During this period Buffet Crampon were making only a limited number of extremely fine professional clarinets and quality control at Buffet had not suffered the decline it was to undergo later. For this reason this period is commonly referred to as Buffet's "Golden Era". It was made with hand selected unstained Grenadilla wood.

Condition : This clarinet was overhauled by it´s previous owner and is in excellent condition. No cracks, no damage, no repairs: only some mild wear on the wooden parts due to normal use. The nickel plated key work is in excellent shape, with no noticeable wear. The wood is excellent throughout with no cracks or repairs. It has some light wear due to normal use. 
The mouthpiece is a very nice Vandoren B45 with silver plated Buffet ligature and cap. The sturdy case is a brand new BAM Light leather case.
