General description : One of the last New Wonder Series 1 saxophones: they changed into the New Wonder series 2 (also known as ChuBerry) at around serial 144xxx. The only difference is the famous fingernail G# key. It has all the features : rolled tone holes, Eb vent key, extra G# trill key and the pivot locking screws. These are terrific horns for blues and ballads, and still highly rewarded by musicians because of their unique warm sound.

Condition : In very good playing condition: the sax was overhauled by its previous owner using brown Roopads with metal resonators. The original neck has no pulldown.
The horn was played during it´s life but is in great mechanical condition, with the usual lacquer wear. The body is in excellent condition, straight and with perfect original tone holes. It has the original rollers (1 is missing on the LH pinky plateau). Most of the tiny locking screws are missing but I´ll install new ones: no worries. There´s no damage, dents or repairs on this horn: very unusual…

Engraving:  The engraving is not the standard Conn engraving, have a look at the pictures. This horn also has an extra inscription on the bell : Sole English Agencies, The saxophone xxx Ltd.,  40. Gerrard Str.
This means it was exclusively sold in the UK for an English company called The Saxophone (xxx) Ltd: the engraving is not sharp enough anymore. It could be 40. Garrard Street in London´s Chinatown: there´s a small betting shop in there right now. It could be connected to sax.co.uk, as their trading name is Saxophones Ltd…

Lacquer : I´m pretty sure it was a bare brass instrument first and it was lacquered after the extra engraving on the bell was added, as its hard to read. However the serial info is crisp sharp, so most likely not a relacquer. Anyway the lacquer is old and has that nice vintage dark-honey color. It has plenty of wear and pitting, as usual for these instruments.

Level : professional.

Body :  Lacquer : original(?) lacquer, with usual lacquer wear.
Condition : very good, only light wear and tear.
Visual : no dents, only tiny dings on bow section.
Repairs : None.
Engraving : well visible engraving on bell, including extra inscription.

Keywork : Lacquered
Condition : very good, with normal wear and tear.
Pads : Very good brown Roopads with metal resonators.

Neck : Lacquered.
Condition : very good, with normal wear and tear. No pulldown.

Features : Rolled tone holes, Eb vent key, extra G# key.

Case : Replacement Protec-like case (no brand)
Case condition : very good, with normal wear and tear.
