Artikel: Conn New Wonder series 1

General description : This is a rather strange horn….. Clearly a new Wonder series 1, but without the rolled tone holes and without the patent number on the back (corresponding with the rolled tone holes). It also doesn´t have Mother of Pearl key inlays. This might be a custom-made horn, or maybe Conn was clearing their old inventory? It´s in Finish 1: silver plated body with gold plated keywork and a gold-plated engraving on the bell, with Conn Ltd text.

Condition : This horn needs a complete overhaul and some repairs. It was already disassembled an partly cleaned by the previous owner. The ggod news: the body is in great condition, without dents, damage or repairs. Silver plating is great, as well as the golden bell engraving. Body is straight. The neck was missing so I added a brand-new silver-plated Power neck to this horn. It fits perfectly. The necks crew on body is broken.
The keywork needs some attention on some of the keys. Gold plating is very good, but keys and rods need to be straightened and adjusted. One key is missing : high Eb. The side Bb key needs to be re-attached: the post is not mounted correctly. The Bb key is included. The octave mechanism is broken off; all parts are included.
All pads and cork were already removed, so this should be a rather standard overhaul after the repairs.
Delivery including an aftermarket vintage case, in fair condition and fully functional.

History : No history available. From auction in USA. Imported in 2016.

Remarks : The necks of these NW1 tenors are the same size as the Transitional 10M and the early 10M Ladyface tenors. Tenon diameter is 28.2mm.
