Artikel: Conn Transitional 10M Ladyface

Type : Transitional 10M Ladyface
Serial : M275899
Year : mid 1936
General description : This Transitional 10M Ladyface was built mid-1936 and is definitely one of the last Transitional 10M horns, so no 10M stamp near the serial number. The ´real´ 10M was already in production by the, so I strongly believe this horn was manufactured to clean up their old stock. It´s a true 10M Ladyface, only no 10M stamp above the serial number. It still has the extra G# vent key option.
These are the most sought-after tenors because of their huge full sound. Many famous players owned an early 10M.
Condition : Definitely a relacquer, with normal wear and tear. The Ladyface engraving is clearly visible. This horn is not complete and will be a great project to finish, or a great upgrade using your current 10M horn as donor.
The body is straight and has some minor dings/dents around the bow/bell section: nothing major. The bell/bow brace needs to be resoldered again: easy job. Most important issues are the missing keys for low C# and side high E. Also the pants guard is missing. You can take them off from another 10M, as they are standard keys. All locking screws are present and it has the original amber rollers. The horn has rolled tone holes, of course. The pads are new and seal well, with metal resonators. A full overhaul is therefore not required: just a couple of repairs will do.
The horn came without a neck, so I added a brand-new aftermarket neck to the horn. It´s not a 10M-style neck, but it will do the job after a small adjustment. An original neck can be found on Ebay sometimes.
